The server was wonderful and they were able to sit us next to the window with partial view for my birthday. My shrimp pasta and good flavor and they devein the shrimp!! Husband got the bulgogi chicken which he said was just okay. My Toddler had fish and chips from the kids menu and he ate all his fish. The fries were done good. It was nice and crispy.
The Sunday Brunch Buffet is back, baby!!!!!!!!! As far as I can tell, after Covid, the Sunday Buffet went the way of the dodo, or Pogs... nonexistant. Then, from a chance conversation at work, I hear Saltys on Alki is doing brunch again. Needless to say, we made a rez for that very next Sunday. ...5 years (give or take) is a long time to wait between brunches... But the wait is over. Salty's brought back their brunch buffet and as far as I know, its a permanent feature. It is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. The layout of the place is a little meandering. It feels like they dont have a "place" for the buffet. Its just kinda... in sections of the restaurant, but once you go through a round, its not that bad. The view of the sound and the Seattle skyline is pretty awesome. The service is top notch. Our server.. John was on top of it during our whole meal. Answering questions, cleaning the table, offering hot towels, even taking a picture of us. He was very helpful and made us feel like a wanted guest. The food is pretty darn good, too. Buffet style dinners/breakfasts are often seen as having ...lower quality offerings so as to compensate for the cost. The food here was good enough, that wasnt really an issue. Most of the selections were very good and worthy of multiple rounds. The mac n cheese was very good! The steelhead, salmon loks, oysters, crab, shrimp, fried fish... all extremely good! Ive had better clam chowder, but not often. This is a pretty good chowder. The potatoes, carving station, and bacon were... average. Not bad. Servicable. The desserts were pretty good, as well. The blueberry waffles, the creme brulee, all the sweets were well made. I didnt get to the omelette station, but I had to try the pasta station. It was excellent. The pasta was good enough on its own for an entree. Had I the room, I would have done a second plate. All in all, it was an extremely satisfying return to a tradition we've been missing for almost 5 years... We WILL be back
Our boss treated us here for our clinic holiday outing and it was an incredible dinner that we had, the people, the conversation, and the food were all marvelous! FOOD: 9/10 Appetizer: Alki Trio Entrees: 12oz Pepper Crusted New York Strip Desserts: Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Drinks: OMG and Bacardi Lime Coconut Mango Mojito Quality: The Alki Trio was definitely amazing, the crab cake was delightful to enjoy and I am obsessed with the calamari and coconut prawns, very tasty and refreshing! Now the entrees that I ordered is a medium rare NY Strip Steak, it was cooked to perfection with the tenderness just right, the steak is very juicy and was flavored with a generous amount of black pepper sauce. The steak was definitely a highlight of the night! The pumpkin spice cheesecake was very smooth, creamy and was really consistent, with generous amount of caramel drizzle! Appearance: All food look excellent, very attentive to the details and they were all presented with love and looks very appetizing. The appetizers and the cheesecake won the best looking food of the night! Portion size: Great and generous portions, An appetizer, an Entree and a dessert would just be the comfortable and perfect amount of food for the night, I did not feel too overwhelmed and was definitely satisfied with the amount of food! Price: Definitely worth the money spent! (LOL even though I did not pay for the bill, but I am so grateful for my boss who took us out to this fancy place for dinner because I literally suggested Red Lobster and Cheesecake factory and yet he decided this place). It was really on the more expensive end though! Service: 7/10 Friendliness: We went on a Friday evening and was expected this place to be packed and it was in reality! So our server was really busy and I can felt that he is overwhelmed by the amount of people that we had that night! But I really appreciate him being very professional to cater all of us and he was very patient to accomdate our different needs and took pictures for us! Timeliness: We wait quite a while for the food to come, probably an hour ish since we sat down. I get it since we are a big party so it took a long time for everyone to get sitted and finished ordering. But I would appreciate it more if the food can come on a timely manner. Anyway it was worth waiting and we had a great time chatting the night away and enjoying our drink while waiting for the food. Environment: Quite a fine dining place with a nicely dim light and the best skyline of Seattle! If you are seated next to the window, it would be a night to remember because imagine enjoying this nice dinner while overlooking the night skyline of Seattle, it just sounded like the perfect date night scene! We went close to the Christmas season so the whole place was decorated with Santa and many Christmas cute stuff! They also have a Christmas photo spot! Location: Great location right at Alki beach with plenty of parkings, they do have a huge parking lot and it was easy to find! I really suggest you to take pictures both inside and outside of the restaurant to capture the best nightview of Seattle!
I highly recommend this restaurant!!! Beautiful decor! Beautiful views throughout. Food was delicious. I would definitely dine here again. Our server was amazing ! Attentive and sweet. We celebrated my husband's bday and he got a nice big slice of cake with a candle. Nice gesture!
We had an amazing brunch here! The seafood was fresh, and the brunch selections were always well-stocked. What truly stood out to me were the staff--every single person was incredibly welcoming, greeting each patron they passed with a warm smile. I'm already looking forward to making another reservation to dine here again soon!
Salty's on Alki is an absolute gem of a seafood restaurant, boasting breathtaking views of the Seattle skyline shimmering across the water! You simply can't miss the chance to dine here--it's an unforgettable experience filled with vibrant energy and incredible flavors. Trust me; you'll want to make this your go-to spot for dinner! SERVICE Hostess was friendly. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. FOOD Since there were four of us, we shared most of all the plates ordered. Everything was delicious for the appetizers and main entrees. Starters * Prawn Cocktail * Freshly Shucked Oysters (a dozen) * Calamari * Dungeness Crab Cakes * Seafood Chowder Soup Mains * Colossal Alaska Red King Crab Legs * Lobster and Prawn Bucatini Dessert * Opera Cake slice * Crème Brûlée The dessert experience did not meet our expectations. The waiter had raved about the Opera Cake slice, describing it as a large and delicious portion. Unfortunately, the cake turned out to be quite dry and lacked flavor. Thankfully, the crème brûlée was able to satisfy our dessert cravings. FEEDBACK * Waitstaff could benefit from tasting the dessert before recommending it to customers. It would help them provide more informed suggestions. Additionally, there may be room for improvement in the baking of the opera cake, as it didn't quite meet expectations. * We ordered The Essential Baking Co. Grilled Fremont Sour (bread and butter), but it wasn't served, and we were charged for it. Given the restaurant's caliber, I had anticipated a higher standard of service. I believe addressing these minor oversights could enhance the overall dining experience. Thank you for considering this feedback!
We got here right when they opened @10am so parking wasn't hard. They do have a parking lot and side street parking as well. We waited about 10 mins before getting seated. Everyone was friendly had we walked in and got seated. The water view is amazing. They also have a lot of restaurant decor. We were celebrating my sisters engagement. They wrote and specialized a card for her and put rose petals on the table. It was really cute. Our server Dane was very friendly and nice ! You was very attentive. We ordered each mimosa flavor and they were all good. The chicken and waffles were really good. Chicken was crispy and I liked having smaller waffles than 1 big waffle. The prime rib sliders were so juicy and flavorful. They also brought out a slice of cake as we were celebrating my sisters engagement which was very nice of them ! We love saltys and would continue to try other locations we come across.
Salty's was my go-to pick to celebrate my wife's birthday, as I was already familiar with their excellence from their Portland location on the Columbia River, and I wanted a romantic place with a stunning view of the Seattle skyline after sunset. In this, and (almost) every facet of our dining experience here, Salty's did not disappoint. I say "almost", because one thing rubbed me wrong that I would like to mention first, to get my one complaint out of the way before lavishing the praise this restaurant truly deserves, and that is this: things that are generally included with an entrée at other restaurants, such as soup, salad and/or bread, are all a la carte items here, meaning you *will* be charged for them. The bread is an obvious one, since it appears on the appetizers portion of the menu (and is *absolutely* worth the price, because it is phenomenal), but the soup and salad, which we were inquired/offered by our server, were not as obvious, so it was a shock to see them (and their prices) on the bill at the end of our meal. Caveat emptor. Sticker shock aside, the meal was worth every penny. I went with the New York strip steak, atop a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, and alongside a prosciutto-wrapped bundle of asparagus. Fantastic! My wife ordered the Lobster and Prawn Bucatini, which was similarly incredible, and made me wish I'd ordered it myself. These were accompanied by the aforementioned a la carte sides of a Caesar salad, seafood chowder, and that wonderful garlic bread and butter. A cocktail, a glass of wine, and a creme brulée to conclude made for an unparalleled, memorable meal. Service: impeccable. Ambiance: intimate. Luxuriousness: guaranteed. The view: spectacular. Yes! Yes! Yes! Salty's is the king of the sea. Seek seafood satisfaction nowhere else!
Saltys has been a Seattle establishment since 1980. The patio views of the Seattle Skyline from its Alki location are unmatched and thus a popular place to take out of town guests during the spring and summer months. My family and I went to Saltys at Alki for weekend brunch. We made reservations in advance and were seated in the lower patio where there was less wind. This was my first time visiting Saltys, but my parents have been here several times before and said that the interior looks exactly the same as it did 20 years ago. Upon my first impression, Saltys reminded me of Ivar's Seafood House with its sea and sailing decor, but on a much larger scale with huge banquet rooms, large upper and lower patios, and lots of indoor dining space. They have heating lamps too for guests who don't want to get cold from the coastal breeze. Since my family went for brunch, Saltys had both breakfast and lunch dishes available. Since it was nearing noon, we all decided to order lunch entrees instead of breakfast. We ordered the GARLIC CHILI PRAWNS (+$28), the BLACKENED COD TACOS (+$29), the KALBI MARINATED BEEF SANDO (+$26), and the STEELHEAD BLTA (+$27). We also ordered a couple cups of COFFEE. The GARLIC CHILI PRAWNS were served in a tomato, cilantro, and lime oil sauce with some smashed avocado. It was served on a grilled baguette- think like a hybrid of bruschetta and pico de gallo. The prawns were large and juicy and paired well with the oil. However, it was quite a heavy dish with the bread and so I ended up just eating most of the toppings. The BLACKENED COD TACOS were nice and moist. It came with two tacos served in corn tortillas and topped with cabbage slaw and queso fresco. The cod though was almost slightly undercooked though as it didn't flake when you put your fork into it. The outside also was barely blackened. It also came with a side of bright red tortilla chips (which are definitely not naturally colored) and roasted tomato salsa. The chips tasted fine, but the roasted tomato salsa was too sweet for my liking and lacked the extra kick of heat. The KALBI MARINATED BEEF SANDO was basically a banh mi. The menu said it came with furikake fries, but when we got the sandwich, it just had their regular beer battered fries on the side- still good, just not what we were expecting. Of the dishes, this dish was the smallest as the baguette slices were on the skinny side and there wasn't much meat in between the bread. The STEELHEAD BLTA, in comparison to the beef sando, was GIGANTIC. It had two thick pieces of steelhead trout in between sourdough with bacon and avocado. It also came with a side of beer battered fries. If you're hungry and looking for a filling dish, this is the dish for you. The COFFEE was excellent- super smooth with no sour or bitter notes. I drank mine black, but my mom added some cream to hers. Both ways tasted fine, but it didn't really need the cream in my opinion. Service was wonderful. Our waiter, Ben, was attentive and came by to refill our coffee and water several times. He was also prompt to bring out our food within 15-20 minutes of ordering. Note that Saltys automatically adds a 4% surcharge per check, but 100% of the proceeds go to the restaurant staff. TLDR, the view was more spectacular than the food, but it was still an enjoyable experience. Overall: 3.5/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere
